Betty was born on a beach in south Vietnam but can't tell you much about it because she and her parents fled the country soon after when she was only 1 month old. After living in a Malaysian refugee camp for a few months, Betty and her parents made it to Southern California where they lived for six years. Her father's job in oil and gas took them to Texas where Betty attended Rice University. Betty grew tired of knowing only warm and humid days and wanted to experience snow, so she made her way to Cleveland, Ohio and Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Today, Betty is an attorney living in Houston, Texas and works in oil and gas. She is a lapsed runner who enjoys choreographing funny dance routines and traveling with Ryan to cities with great street food. Currently, work and helping her mother is what keeps Betty busy, but she contemplates climbing Mt. Everest again - this time without oxygen.
Betty's Family: Betty is the daughter of the late Anh ("Andy") and Luu ("Lucy"). Her father was a mechanical engineer and her mother is a homemaker. Betty has one sister named Vickie who is a graduate student in psychology and lives with her in Houston. Betty's parents' sacrifice to leave Vietnam and start over to give her and her sister, a better life in the United States continues to humble and inspire her. She loves them all very much.

Ryan's Family: Ryan is the son of Erica and Mark. His mother taught elementary school for several years before becoming a full time homemaker to raise her boys. Ryan followed in the footsteps of his father who works as an electrical engineer. Ryan has a younger brother, Aaron, who works as a mechanical engineer and lives with his wife Emily in Houston, Texas.
